With new legislation and laws being bought into force in during 2007/2008, Company Directors and Senior Management are now even more liable for Company Car Drivers and any problems that might arise whilst driving for work purposes.  Any Company Employee who drives a Company Vehicle or Drives their Own Vehicle for any work related activity,  must under go additional training to satisfy the HSE. Such responsibility is falling in line with various other areas of employment (such as PPE) under HSE laws.  ‘Best practises’ must be put in place and these can be simple and not costly.

Simple training or possibly a few hours on a refresher course can ensure Directors and Senior Management are no longer leaving themselves wide open to prosecution in the event of an accident or even worse a fatality.  Near misses must be logged and recorded and put right with training just as the use of PPE or specialist work equipment.  Doing nothing and leaving yourself vulnerable is no longer an option in the eyes of the HSE.  Preventative measure show you have taken reasonable steps to do all you can to ensure your drivers do the right thing whilst driving for work purposes.  If you are a Company Director or Senior Manager ask yourself a couple of questions.  Do you check your new employees driving licenses when they join you? Do you check them on-going say annually as things change and you need to now about them? We will ask these first and suprisingly many companies answer no to one or both!!

Fleet training can be carried out in your own Company vehicles or ours whichever you prefer.  This is done throughout the UK with a network of our instructors.  Based  localy out in your Regions or from your Central HQ base.  We recommend this to be with 3 members of your staff with 1 instructor.  This helps to reduce the cost and makes training more interesting and more learning takes place with colleagues! All courses come with documentation and training notes to fully support the actions needed (if any) and we work closely with your H&S or Human Resources department.
